The management of Courses by Design originally started running horse shows in 1979. At that first show a top quality facility was selected, a knowledgeable horse person officiated and the courses were well designed and decorated. The exhibitors and trainers were our top concern.
Those traditions worked well then and they still work today!
Over the years different facilities were used to hold the various shows. The Marlton Equestrian Center, Buttonwood Stables, and the English Setter Club were just a few of the host sites. The rings at these facilities were always large with excellent footing for the horses competing. The officials that were asked to judge were knowledgeable horse people from the area. Some of those first judges included Robin Rost, Mark Leone, Cynthia Hankins and Kip Rosenthal. Riders competed throughout the year in stake classes and hunter classics for challenge trophies and high score awards.
Ideas that were well received by exhibitors then were continued and built upon over the years. The past definitely helped to mold the shows of the future.
From 2004 through 2011 the shows ran at Chesterfield Farm in Chesterfield, NJ. From 2012 to 2025 the shows were run at Gleneayre Farm in Lumberton NJ. Starting in 2026 these shows will be moving to Pine Bridge Farm in Southampton NJ. Once again a quality facility with an Indoor arena, lovely outside ring and beautiful hunter field has been chosen. Our objective remains to provide exhibitors and trainers the kind of horse show people enjoy attending. The shows that were started in 2004 will continue to run with the same focus and commitment to the exhibitors.
The places may change but the ideas for a good show remain constant.

2026 Show Schedule
​Join us for the 2026 Courses By Design horse shows, with three horse shows this year at the beautiful Pine Bridge Farm in Southampton NJ!
March 29 ~ Season Startup Indoor Show
The first show of the year will feature our Low, Maiden, Schooling, Open, Children's, Adults, Pre-Children's, Pre-Adults, and Children's Pony Hunter divisions. New for this year, each division champion will receive a $50 tack shop gift certificate!
See the day's schedule here. There will be schooling breaks before each division. Entries will open in late February, and the show day schedule will be updated Friday evening before with approximate times and assigned jump rotations.

May 17 & September 27 ~ Main Ring and Hunt-n-Go Classics on the Grass, plus Annex Ring
The spring and fall shows will feature two competition rings: Pine Bridge’s outdoor Annex ring and the grass Hunt Field. These rings will follow a similar Courses By Design two-ring schedule as in years past.

New for 2026, we’ve added Hunt-n-Go Classics, offered at two heights—2'6" and 3'. The Classics are open to any rider who competed in a division at the corresponding height, with $1,000 in prize money awarded to each winner. Division championships for the day will also be awarded in every division.
